Ian Runeckles
Biography
Organisation: Lasa

I have been working at Lasa since 2002. I started by working on Lasa’s first Circuit Rider project (2002 – 2004) and was involved in the second Rider project (2005 – 2007), the current Building Bridges project and also Lasa’s work with the ICT Hub which laid down the foundations for this programme. I’ve helped maange this progarmme since its inception. I established the UKRiders list for which I have been the list owner since it started in 2003. I’ve been lucky enough to attend a number of NTEN’s Circuit Rider Round-Ups and latterly NonProfit Technology Conferences in the US, presenting a workshop at the Chicago 2005 NTC.
In addition, I co-manage Lasa’s ICT network and my current main role is editing the quarterly Computanews and the monthly London ICT eBulletin.
Prior to Lasa I worked as a proto-Circuit Rider for a training network in East London and before that as network administrator for an environmental charity. In 1989 I helped set up Forest Recycling Project, a community recycling business (what’s now fashionably called a social enterprise).
I now live in rural Norfolk and work remotely for Lasa through the wonder that is the internet. Outside work and technology, I love all kinds of music (except hip hop and anything with a pan pipe in it…), films, visual art, photography, walking, bird watching and playing guitar not very well.
