  1. Published in July 2007, the Successful Technology Use In Small Grassroots Nonprofits report (pdf file 211kb, 19 pages) published by the Institute for NonProfit Organization Management is a useful piece of academic research into how small 28m Californian organisations use technology, what helps and what hinders them and how they learn about, acquire, use and improve technology to achieve their missions.
  2. An ICT Knowledgebase article by Colin Beveridge from the National Computing Centre entitled Aligning ICT with Business Strategy (pdf file 510Kb).В  Although originally written for businesses, the practices outlined in the article are equally applicable to community and voluntary organisations.

  • A Guide to Managing ICT in the Voluntary and Community Sector - an ICT Hub publication – (pdf file 1.6Mb, 106 pages). An excellent overview of voluntary sector ICT management aimed at staff within organisations but equally appropriate and useful for learners. Also available as hard copy, Lasa have a stock.
  • Idealware – www.idealware.org – has a vast repository of reviews of software and systems for the VCS along with running webinars and a email newsletter.
